Brighton Collaboration Journal Club

The Journal Club was inspired by Dr. Fred Varicchio, EIC, who wanted to develop opportunities for interaction and knowledge sharing between vaccine safety experts at the Brighton Collaboration. With a growing interdisciplinary literature around vaccine safety, ranging from clinical trials outcomes and post-licensure surveillance to elucidating the roots of vaccine hesitancy, the BC group is uniquely poised to improve knowledge and foster new collaborations around vaccine safety science.
The Journal Club is run in collaboration with the Vaccine Special Interest Group (SIG) of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), a group of epidemiologists who emphasize the use of real-world data to assess the use, effectiveness, and safety of pharmaceuticals. ISPE SIG Chair Bradley Layton, PhD and Nadja Vielot, PhD co-lead the Journal Club every quarter. For more information, to join the Journal Club, or to lead a Journal Club session, please contact nadjavielot@unc.edu.
